Safe Shield Batteries are on the cutting edge of ebike safety and performance.

The same high-grade lithium-ion cells that were once reserved for electric cars now power your electric bike, giving you added capability, greater efficiency, and a longer battery life cycle.

The battery’s thermal-resistant technology encapsulates each cell in a unique heat-absorbing resin. This can effectively stop the spread of a localized thermal event and can even extinguish the thermal incident.

- Recommended replacement battery for the RadTrike and RadMission (legacy)
- Compatible as an upgraded battery for 2020 and later ebikes that use an external battery. See Details for performance expectations for bikes that originally came with a 14Ah battery
- Not Compatible with the following 2020 models:
  - RadCity Step-Thru 3
  - RadCity High-Step 4
- Not for use on non-Rad Power Bikes branded ebikes.
- For ebikes that originally come with a 14Ah battery, range will be ~30% lower

- Batteries come with a universal key that can be used to lock and unlock the battery to your ebike. Please note that universal keys are not unique to your ebike battery and may work with a variety of locks, including on other Rad ebikes. Universal keys do not offer the highest level of security compared to dedicated or unique key locks. We do not recommend leaving your battery affixed to your ebike in public unattended as it may pose a risk of battery theft.
