Raising the bar
All Rad ebikes are either UL Certified or tested by ACT to comply with UL 2849.
This means our bikes and electric systems have undergone rigorous testing to meet safety standards set by UL, a respected third-party organization.
Although U.S. guidelines don’t currently require ebikes to meet UL Certification, we go the extra mile to ensure our riders feel safe in the saddle. UL Certification, we go the extra mile to ensure our riders feel safe in the saddle.

Your “bike inseam” — or inside leg length — is the distance between your body where it sits on your bike saddle and the ground.
It’s typically an inch or two longer than the length of your trousers, but measure to be sure.
You’ll use this number on the chart to get a feel for how the different models will fit you.
Gather the tools needed:
Medium-width hardcover book
Tape measure
A wall you can stand against
A trusted friend or relative
Wearing your regular riding shoes and with your back to the wall, stand with your feet spread so there is about 7 inches between them - this is about the distance apart your feet would be when straddling a bike with your feet on the ground (standover height).
Place a hardcover book against the wall with the spine of the book facing upward. Slide the book upwards towards your groin until it is solidly against your body. This may be a bit awkward, but is way more comfortable — and safer! — than trying to ride a bike that is too big.
If you have a buddy helping you, get them to measure from the floor to the top of the book spine while you hold the book in place. If you’re going it alone, carefully hold the book in place and measure from the ground to the top of the book spine.
Choose speed settings for your ride:
Class 1: up to 20 mph, throttle only works while pedaling.
Class 2: up to 20 mph while pedaling or throttling.
Class 3, Limited: up to 25 mph while pedaling.
Class 3: up to 28 mph while pedaling.
Remember: adhere to posted speed limits and check local regulations for any speed or ebike class restrictions on the road or trail you're using.
For an extra layer of security, lock and unlock the controls with the touch of a fob or a personal security code
Fast and Curious? The speedometer will tell you your current speed.
Track the distance you’ve racked up, either by trip or through the bike’s entire lifespan.
Is it time to recharge? To help you keep track, this displays your remaining battery life in either percentage or remaining miles.
Did your trip feel like it was just half an hour, or did time fly by? This display will show you the time you spend on each outing. Be sure to reset your trip odometer before a ride you want to track.
The higher the number, the more the motor will boost you when you pedal. This shows what level you’re on, from 0 to 5.
Check out how much power the motor is supplying at any given time.
It’s always a bright idea to make sure your lights are on and operating.
Note: Rear turn signals can be manually turned off or will turn off automatically two minutes into use.
Charging your device? This will confirm if your phone (or tablet, or smartwatch, or headphones, or …) is getting the juice it needs.
